Shade Fashion

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

The trend in shade fashion looks like going into big frames and lenses. This is not a bad thing as these types of model generally offer more protection to the eyes than the more conventional type sunglasses that have the shape of normal glasses. If you are a sun fan and like to build a tan, then these types are not advisable, unless you want to go around proving how white you were before you started. Maybe that will be the next trend, think I will see how it catches on before I try it though.

Think Protection

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

There are some basic facts you should know about buying a pair of shades. Firstly, there are no internationally recognised true standards; you should take a look at the label and check 99-100 percent protection is given for both uva and uvb. If you are going to spend lots of time outdoors in the sun’s glare, wrap around ones are much better. You should not be conned by the price or the density of the shade of lens, these do not necessarily denote they are better for your eyes. Expensive usually means good for quality and durability, but some glasses may be aimed at design. So check the rating first of all.

Basic Facts

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

There are certain basic facts one should know before one splashes out on a new pair of sunglasses or contact lenses that can do the same job. Dangerous UBV rays are a main contributor to causing cataracts. If you are buying contact lenses online, you should be especially careful that you are asked for your prescription to ensure you are being given an adequate set. If you are doing activities around water, you should be aware that the glare from the surface is very powerful. Mirror lenses are generally the best option as they reflect, and therefore reduce, the amount of light entering your eyes. Photochromic lenses can be useful, but they do take time to adjust to different light levels, so if you are constantly in and out of places, it may not be the wisest choice.

Sunglasses Market

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

Sunglasses are primarily meant to protect one’s eyes from harmful UV radiations. But, of late, sunglasses have also become sort of a fashion accessory, without which many think they miss something that peps their looks up. Either way, sunglasses are in huge demand today, especially amongst youngsters, and there are thousands of brands out there in the market; they all proclaim to be the best sunglasses you could find in the world. So, from a common man’s perspective, how to discern chalk from cheese? While shopping, make it a point to wear the sunglass in front of a mirror, and alongside, checking how well it suits you; see if you are really comfortable wearing them. In other words, see if it is soothing to your eyes, or you feel some sort of strain glancing through it? If it is the latter, you can safely assume that you are wearing a fake sunglass.

Why to use contact lenses

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

During a lifetime when seeing problems occur, patients turn to eye care providers and ophthalmic medical practitioners to regain normal vision.

The list of eye diseases is pretty wide and in lucky cases the problem can be fixed with a prescription of glasses or contact lenses. The ophthalmologist precedes several tests and according to the result, a recommendation is made. During a check-up the visual acuity is tested, measuring the sensitivity of the visual system. Normal vision is expressed as 20/20 (or 6/6 in countries where metric measurements are used) and shows the distance at which the letter read by the patient subtends 5 minutes of arc.

If the result is to wear glasses or contact lenses, the patient should read and strictly keep the instructions of the prescription. A contact lens prescription differs a tiny bit from a spectacle prescription by the addition of lens parameters and diameter of the lenses, base curve, and possibly additional curves lens material, design or manufacturer name.
Hard contact lenses are made of hard plastic material and come as either non-gas permeable or gas permeable, providing clear vision and last a long time and although are harder to insert and take out but correct most vision problems. Soft lenses are manufactured from a plastic hydro gel polymer and allow wearing for longer periods of time without removal and cleaning; however some have shorter life spans, an inability to correct some vision problems and a lack of durability.

Contact lenses involve a proper cleaning, following the instructions given by an eye doctor. The general guidelines followed for all lens types include: hand washing before removing or inserting the lens, the use quality lens care products and try to clean lenses as often as possible to move buildup and to clean the lens case with solution and replace it every so often.

Worn for a long period of time may cause blurry vision, pain, and redness due to the lack of oxygen passing through to the cornea as well as improper cleaning of contact lenses can result in bacterial infections which can lead different diseases.

The Darker The Better

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

The darker the better is not is very far from the truth when describing sunglasses. In fact darker sunglasses can sometimes damage the eye if they do not carry the CE mark that denotes the protection from dangerous rays. Other false claims should also be noted; only using protection when it is sunny is also flawed; even with a cloud-filled sky, there is a potential risk to serious damage to the sight organs. Whilst many of us adults like to wear our designer shades, we should also think seriously about our children. It is very true that children are more at risk of serious eye impairment as their bodies are still developing. So if it comes to a choice, make sure any young ones are adequately protected. Sunglasses are not just a fashion adornment, they have a very important role to play.

Sunglasses Regulations

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

A pair of sunglasses has to conform to strict regulations if they are to prove effective for their real purpose. Glasses should dim enough brightness to protect the eyes and yet not affect the clarity of the vision. If you purchase one of the leading brands in sunglasses you are going to get the best protection money can buy. Those who opt for cheaper products may be taking a great risk with their eyes; it definitely pays to check the level of protection before you take a cheaper option. Whatever your choice is, always try to keep to recommended cleaning instructions and protect the glasses when they are not in use in a proper case. If any scratches occur, you should replace immediately. One of the advantages of buying a good designer pair of sunglasses is that you can easily have one or both lenses replaced without having to buy new frames also: maybe a cheaper option in the long term.

Looking Good

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

Selecting a cool set of shades can give the wearer added appeal and leave them with a good feeling inside and out. For those who do not like seeing the world as a darker shade all the time, can opt for light –sensitive lenses that adjust to your surroundings. This obviously saves having to keep taking them on and off, usually misplacing them in the process, and the nuisance this sometimes causes. For those who wear normal glasses permanently, they can have either light sensitive or just ordinary sun-protection lenses, built in with the prescription. For those who just can’t be bothered wearing spectacles at all, there is a contact lens version available-cool or what?

Protect your Eyes

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

The vital importance of wearing a good quality pair of sunglasses cannot be underestimated. Some people think that sunglasses and goggles are only needed for the beach or the ski slope: not true. Eye damage can be caused all year round if there is too much exposure to the sun. A good set of sunglasses should block out both UVA and UVB rays to ensure you are getting the best protection. The same sunrays that damage the skin can also do damage to the eyes which are a very delicate structure. So you should think about the risks and take precautions before you decide what to buy. You have a vast selection to choose from using online providers who offer big discounts and fast delivery. Don’t forget, sizes range from the ones that almost cover all the face, or you can even have contact lenses made as sunglasses!
